German Tourists Prefer Spending Their Holidays Among Their Compatriots

The majority of Germans prefer to rest in their circle. Only few of them try to get in touch with other tourists or local citizens. This conclusion was made by the experts of the German institute of market examination GfK. The German subdivision of the big tourist portal TripAdviser has recently published results of investigations of the German tourists preferences. The poll was carried out by the German institute of market examination GfK. More than 1000 German tourists 500 of which regularly spend their holiday abroad took part in the poll. German tourists do not like to rest with the English GfK experts declared that 61% of respondents mentioned than they have come across the improper conduct of other tourists. As regards the nationality of noisy and ill-bred holiday-makers, 20% of respondents named the English. Then go Russian tourists - they irritate 18.5% of respondents. The third place is occupied by the German tourists themselves. This was the choice of 15% of respondents. The fourth place is occupied by the Dutch - they were mentioned by 11.9% of respondents. The majority of respondents - 62.2% - declared that it is rather unpleasant to be in the company of drunk tourists of any nationality, since they often behave improperly. Besides, most respondents stated that the conduct of tourists from Switzerland and Austria does not disturb them at all. However, in Bavaria the results of the poll were quite the contrary: 15.1% of Bavarians who took part in the investigation are displeased with behavior of the Austrian tourists, 10.6% - with behavior of the Swiss tourists. Germans do not tend to get in touch with other holiday-makers According to GfK, only few German tourists tend to get in touch with holiday-makers from other countries or with the local citizens. 37% of respondents prefer during their holidays to communicate only with Germans. In eastern German lands the rate is higher - 48.5%. 25.1% of respondents do not seek new acquaintances during their holidays. In eastern land this rate makes up 31.2 percent. On the whole, 62% of respondents avoid getting acquainted with tourists from other countries. Among the population from eastern lands this rate makes up 79.7 percent. However, 11.3% of respondents are eager to acquaint with foreign holiday-makers, and 20.4% get in touch with the local population. Traditional German resorts are Spain, Turkey and Italy. According to the poll, most German tourists prefer to rest in the countries where the number of Germans is traditionally large. To this category belongs Spain - it was chosen by 17.4% of respondents. Then goes Turkey (13.4%). The third place is occupied by Italy (11.6%). However, 45.2% of respondents declared that they cannot identify countries where German tourists are especially welcomed.
